Trauma Services

KLF Counseling & Consulting, PA and Kathy L. Fortner, Ed. S, LPC, NCC is accepting new clients who have been involved in traumatic events.  She counsels children, adolescents, adults identified as having Acute Stress Disorder or PTSD.  Ms. Fortner has had experience working with Military families, Veterans, and others exposed to life threatening events. Evidenced based treatment guidelines are utilitize to maximize client care.  Ms. Fortner is additionally certified and is a member of the ICISF with specialized training by national presenters and trainers for CISD work with groups, individuals, crisis, and other areas affecting individuals exposed to traumatic events.

Ms. Fortner will bill private insurance yet also will bill SOVA (South Carolina Victims Assistance) for payment. If your child has been identified as needing these specialized services through the Children’s Recovery Center in Myrtle Beach or Dee Norton Childrens Center in Charleston, this practice is one of the trained professionals recognized to provide services. You may request the clinician within this practice to be selected as your provider of mental health services.

Dee Norton Low County Children’s Center
This facility is located near the Charleston, SC area and provides quality treatment and evaluation services for victimized children. We accept referrals from this center.

Children’s Recovery Center
This facility is located near Myrtle Beach, SC area providing evaluation services with listing of local mental health providers of service treating children with child sexual abuse. We accept referrals from this center and may request the provider of your choice.
